Kilham played in two premiership finals for South Sydney in 1935 and 1939. He also played in the 1939 Cup-Tie final. He also was captain of the 1943 South Sydney Reserve Grade premiership winning team.
Kilham was schooled at Patrician Bros, Redfern. He was a outstanding schoolboy player, winning the Metropliatan Catholic 2nd Grade title in 1929, and again in 1930 with the Patrician Bros A grade team undefeated. He is a South Sydney junior originally from Carrington. In 1932 he won the South Sydney C grade competition with Lauriston Park. Then followed this up by winning the South Sydney Juniors A grade completion in 1934 with Botany United, undefeated, winning the best and fairest player for the season. He played junior reps between 1933 and 1934 in the U21 Presidents Cup team.Kilham made his senior grade debut in the 1934 Round 10 Third Grade clash against St George at Earl Park. In Round 1 1935 against University at the Sports Ground he step up into Reserve Grade. Then a few weeks later in Round 6 1935 he made his first grade premiership debut against Newtown at Marrickville Oval as a 18 year old.
Kilham played 9 seasons with South Sydney. He would play 117 first grade games, which included 95 first grade premiership games and 15 first grade cup games. He would play 143 senior grade games for South Sydney, which included 121 premiership senior grade games. He would also play 7 additional short form games.
Kilham's final first grade and senior grade game was in the 1943 Cup-Tie Semi-Final against St George at the SCG.
