One time South Sydney premiership winner in 1909. He was also a squad member who played in the 1910 premiership decider.
William Fry came across to rugby league with brother Ed Fry. He was a keen cycler before trying his hand at rugby league. He initially played second grade in 1908 with South Sydney. Midway through the 1909 season he stepped up into first grade making his first grade club and premiership debut in the 1909 Round 7 clash against North Sydney at the Showground.
Fry was a rugby league pioneer half who could also play centre. He was selected to play half in the 1909 forfieted premiership decider.
Fry played 4 seasons with South Sydney between 1908 and 1911. He played 23 first grade club games for South Sydney, which included 22 first grade premiership games.
Fry played 1 representative game while at South Sydney in the 1910 Possibles verses Probables 1st match at the Showground.
Fry played his final first grade club and premiership game in the 1911 finals playoff against Eastern Suburbs at the Sports Ground.
