WIN 10-8

Selected Junior teams

This match was played as a preliminary match for the Australia v NZ match. This match was a exhibition match between South Sydney Juniors and other Junior players (called the Combined Borough) mainly from Balmain. Balmain and South Sydney were the first Junior League associations to form back in April 1908 during their respective A Grade competitions were invited to participate in the first ever junior representative match. The Juniors gave a very interesting display of the game, which, however at times developed rather scraggy patches. The South Sydney boys had the better of the game up to the closing quarter of an hour, when the Combined Borough lads made the pace very hot. The game eventually ended in with the Souths juniors combination recording a 10-8 victory.
