Not to be confused with Harry Pearce the sculler. Pierce was born in Surrey England and came out to Australia. A rugby union convert he played for Sydney RU before going across to Glebe. Pierce made his first grade premiership debut for South Sydney in the 1910 Round 6 clash against Western Suburbs at the Metters Sports Ground.
Pierce, a fringe first grade forward, was a fast, heavy forward, a fine tackler and one of the best men at dribbling a ball.
Pierce played two seasons with South Sydney between 1910 and 1911. He played 5 first grade club games for South Sydney, which included 4 first grade premiership games.
Pierce played his last first grade premiership game in the 1910 Round 13 clash against Glebe at Wentworth Park. His final first grade club appearnce for South Sydney was in the 1911 first grade tour match against Newcastle in Hamilton.

After Leaving South Sydney
Pierce joined the AIF in 1915, serving in France. When the war ended he transfered into the Australian Graves Services, remaining in France and later England working as a construction engineer rebuilding war torn Europe.
