Finals Berth Secured
It was great opening 30 minutes that saw South Sydney jump out to a 28 point lead off some great attacking football, which saw Fifita score what could be argued as one of the greatest ever second rowers tries. But once again as we have done in many games in 2026 we allowed the opposition back into the game with a run of unanswered points. Before we regathered out composure in the last 15 minutes. The win saw us return to finals football for the first time in 4 years. Now for a final season hitout in a emotional day out at our new home against the visiting Roosters.
Murray and Duncan double
In one of the most dominate displays by a interchange player, Murray scored two tries, and set up two more. He was unstopable in the first 30 minutes and set the platform for the team in a great captains knock. Not to be out done Duncan followed it up late in the game with his own double.
Mazzone triple and Kosi double as reserves bow out
Mazzone was on the end of another string of tries. His first swooping on a loose ball to score, while the next two were cutout balls to score, for another hattrick. He fiinshed the season as the reserve grade top try scorer with 23 tries. While Mazzone dominated the right side, Kosi bagged a double on the left wing. But reserve grade finish the season just outside of the Top 5 in 8th spot a big improvement on 2025, when you take into consideration the volume of injuries we had in 2026. Bentley-Hape finished the season as the equal top point scorer in reserve grade with Mazzone with 92 points.
U21s final penalty shoot out
After a draw in the first encounter, it was another tight contest in the U21 playoff for 5th on the weekend. But after the Tigers equalised in the last 10 minutes. It became litteraly a penalty shoot out for the last two minutes. South Sydney getting a long range penalty, to take the lead. Then the Tigers getting a close range attempt to level the scores. Then a final penalty to win the game, but Humphries was not able to land the long range kick. But in a game where South Sydney needed to win, a draw was not enough to make the finals as they bow out in 6th place. Lenoy-Sam finished the season as the top try scorer with 13 tries, while Charlie Poynton finihsed the year as the top point scorer with 72 points. While Taj Alvarez finished the year scoring 24 tries across U19s and U21s.
Women finish in 2nd
It was real team effort by the womens team, as South Sydney continue their finals charge. We have moved into second place with another strong performance. McGregor put in another domaint performance with the boot and setting up tries. Now for the finals.
Arrow emotional scenes
There were emotional scenes up in the Gold Coast as Jai Arrow returned to the field for his 99th appearance for the Rabbitohs, as the NRL gave Jai a opportunity to say goodbye to his former clu the Gold Coast. A Rabbitohs ground round record at Ribin turned up to farewell Jai. After entering the field of play and the referee signaling time on and then time off under the speacial Arrow rules. Cameron Murray waited on the sideline with a special Arrow interchange card, and Jai waved Murray off saying he wanted to stay on. It was a special moment many won't forget, including Bennett helping Jai put his socks on.
