One time South Sydney premiership squad member in 1908.
Harden like many in 1908 came across from rugby union. Playing with the Alexandria Waratah RU before joining South Sydney. In 1905 he was member of the successful Alexandria Waratah RU club with Tommy Anderson. He trialed in 1908 before being named as South Sydney's inaugural Third Grade captain. Third Grade season ended early for South Sydney, when the competition was reduced to a Top 6 after a number of forfiets. With Arthur Butler departing for England on the 1908-09 Kangaroo Tour, Harden was called into first grade as halfback, making his first grade premiership debut in the Semi-Final clash against Glebe at Wentworth Park. This was his only first grade club apperance.
Harden played 2 seasons with South Sydney between 1908 and 1909. He only played 1 first club and premiership game for South Sydney. He played second grade for the rest of his career with South Sydney in 1909.
Harden only played 1 representative game while at South Sydney in 1908 for a Combined 3rd Grade team against Eastern Suburbs 2nd Grade.
