WIN 58-0
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have come out convincing 58-0 victors in the Group 20 Trial Match tonight at Solar Mad Stadium, Griffith. It was a night for the young guns with six of the 10 tries being scored by players eligible for Jersey Flegg. Playing in an 80-minute trial broken up into four quarters, both teams can admit being guilty to a bit of rust. Once the Rabbitohs held onto the ball however, their class shone through. Group 20 matched it with the Rabbitohs early, looking to assert their dominance through physicality in the middle of the field. Souths crossed first through Jacob Gagai who beat two defenders before planting the ball down in the corner within the first five minutes. This came from the set directly following a 40-20. That was the only score of the first quarter. Maila Chanfoon got on the score-sheet after both Dean Hawkins and Troy Dargan combined, who then found Chanfoon backing up on the inside. There was more to come from our youngsters when Zane Bijorac scored a double in just as many minutes. Bijorac, still eligible for Jersey Flegg, finished off a play with ease in the right corner for his first, then received a freakish flick pass by Steven Marsters for his second. Blake Taaffe looked solid with the boot from out-wide, slotting both conversion attempts. With the score at 22-0 at half time, the visitors were firmly in the driver's seat. The pressure continued to build and Souths started off the second half just as they finished the first, with points. Peter Mamouzelos was rewarded for his work in the middle, scoring a try by simple support play off the back of a Tautau Moga break, and Jacob Host assist. Then CJ Mundine showed his wheels when he picked up a loose ball to run the best part of 60 metres straight through the middle, untouched. Jacob Gagai was the second Rabbitoh to pick up his double for the night when Steven Marsters put his Winger over untouched, while Trent Peoples brought up the half century when his un-intentional dummy fooled everyone - himself included! With only minutes remaining, Davvy Moale capped off a brilliant performance to bring the final score to 58-0 after hitting a short-ball close to the line.

NSWRL U21 Jersey Flegg Trial
v Sydney Roosters, Mascot Oval, 3:00pm
LOSS 8-24
The Jersey Flegg side went down to the Sydney Roosters 8-24 in very hot conditions. In the 80-minute game (broken up into quarters) the Rabbitohs mixed and matched the side in order to trial their 23 players selected. Lathan Hutchinson-Walters impressed in the Centres in his first Rabbitohs game and Ben Lovett had a very solid game in the back row. While there were good individual performances across the board, Souths let themselves down with their ball-handling, which invited the Roosters into the game in hot conditions. A final great length of the field chip and chase try by Chaise Robinson finished the game on high note. "Tevita Taumoepenu was a shining light in the forwards coming off two very good stints, it's great to see for him at this time of year," O'Callaghan said.

NSWRL U19 SG Ball Cup - Round 3
v St George, Mascot Oval, Sat Feb 20 1:00pm
WIN 38-6
The Rabbitohs SG Ball side had a big win over the Dragons winning 38-6 taking them to outright second on the ladder. Byron Parnell had a barnstorming game in the back-row and was rewarded with the first try of the game. Skipper Dion Teaupa controlled the game beautifully in the halves and his goal-kicking was impressive kicking five goals from seven attempts during the match. Due to South Sydney's dominant start, they had a commanding lead at the break with the score at 24-0. While Saints clawed back in the back-end of the match, Souths still won the second stanza 12-6. Tallis Duncan has been a standout at Lock in the first few rounds and Romano Cook out of Dummy Half was very sharp providing great roll-on for his forwards. Both players were rewarded with tries of their own today. "Collectively as a forward pack they covered really well without Davvy Moale who is playing an NRL Trial tonight in Griffith, so that was really pleasing to see."

LOSS 12-34
The Rabbitohs went down to the St George team 12-34 in a high-scoring affair at Mascot Oval. While South Sydney got off to the perfect start leading 12 nil within the first 10 minutes of the game, Saints banded together and it was all one-way traffic after that. Zane Lockwood crashed over within the first few sets of the game while Tyrone Munro proved his shift from the Centres to Fullback did not effect his ability to find the line, as he too scored moments after. Cooper McGrath slotted both conversion attempts. While Saints only scored one try before the break, leaving Souths with a six-point lead at the break, they went on to score 28 unanswered points in the second half.

NSWRL U19 SG Ball Cup - Round 2

DRAW 22-22
It’s been a mixed result for the Rabbitohs Harold Matthews and SG Ball Cup sides today, as the Club’s Juniors battled it out against northern Sydney rivals, the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. With rain continuing to fall throughout the day, it was always going to be a battle between who could handle the elements the best. The Rabbitohs SG Ball Cup side will be rueing a 22 all draw with Manly, after leading 22-4 with just 15 minutes left in the match. With both sides come off a last start win, it was always going to be a tight contest. Isaiah Vailalo showcased plenty of power up front, while Tallis Duncan demonstrated true grit and stamina, playing the entire game at lock with no rest. Josiah Karapani helped the side roll forward numerous times throughout the match, with his carries out of the back end proving to be nothing short of sensational.

LOSS 12-30
Kicking off proceedings was the Harold Matthews side who went down 30-12 in their first game at Redfern Oval. While the signs were positive from the outset, which resulted in anice grubber try to Macey. Too many errors leading into half-time hurt the Rabbitohs, as Manly raced away scoring 3 quick tries in 7 minutes for a 30-6 lead at the break. South Sydney’s Harold Matts players put that behind them in the second stanza, keeping their opposition scoreless, while collecting a four pointer of their own. The final score being 30-12 in Manly’s favour. Front row forward Nathaniel Gallo was strong up front for the Rabbitohs, while Ryan McGrath’s defensive efforts were key in shutting down some of Manly’s efforts. Moustafa Sankari was another standout performer from the bench, providing impact when the team needed it most.

v Penrith, 12:00pm
LOSS 4-28
Match is played in 30 minutes halves. The Harold Matthews got off to a great start scoring first through Tyrone Munro but ill-discipline with ball-in-hand invited the big Penrith Pack into the game. While the game stayed at 16-4 right up until the last 10 minutes, Penrith went away with it in the end dotting down for two tries in the final few sets. The Rabbitohs Harold Matthews side finally going down to Penrith 28-4. Ashton Cini at Lock had a very solid match and the effort across the board could not be faulted.
